Resumo:

Objetivo: Avaliar a prevalência das emergências pediátricas em casos de obstrução de vias aéreas por corpo estranho (OVACE).

Metodologia: O presente estudo trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica do tipo revisão integrativa da literatura, utilizada a estratégia PICo para busca nas bases de dados as quais foram utilizadas a BIREME e PUBMED.

Resultados: Foram encontrados quatrocentos e oitenta (480) estudos, após aplicar os filtros restaram vinte (20) artigos dos quais quatro (04) foram selecionados e incluídos no estudo, sendo dois (02) no idioma inglês, um (01) em espanhol e um (01) em português.

Conclusão: Conclui-se que os acontecimentos de OVACE pediátricas possuem uma maior incidência em crianças menores de três anos do sexo masculino que no feminino, e o diagnostico deve ser realizado de forma rápida pois o atraso poderá trazer consequências graves.

Abstract:

Objective: This study aimed to assess the prevalence of pediatric emergencies in cases of airway obstruction by a foreign body.

Methodology: The present study is a bibliographic search of the type integrative literature review, using the PICo strategy to search the databases which were used by BIREME and PUBMED.

Results: Four hundred and eighty (480) studies were found. After applying the filters, twenty (20) articles remained, of which four (04) were selected and included in the study, two (02) in English, one (01) in Spanish. and one (01) in Portuguese.

Conclusion: It is concluded that pediatric OVACE events have a higher incidence in children under three years of age than males, and the diagnosis should be made quickly as the delay can have serious consequences.
