AVALIAÇÃO DO USO DE CORTICOSTERÓIDES NA SÍNDROME RESPIRATÓRIA AGUDA GRAVE CAUSADA PELO COVID-19: UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
EVALUATION OF THE USE OF CORTICOSTEROIDS IN THE SERIOUS ACUTE RESPIRATORY SYNDROME CAUSED BY COVID-19: A LITERATURE REVIEW

Objetivo: Avaliar o
uso dos anti-inflamatórios esteroidais na fase aguda da infecção pelo vírus
causador da SARS-COV-2. Metodologia: A prospecção científica do presente estudo se trata de uma revisão de
literatura, e foi realizada utilizando as bases de dados Scielo, Lilacs,
Cochrane e Pubmed. Houve uma seleção criteriosa no que diz
respeito às obras utilizadas para o desenvolvimento desta revisão, com os descritores
utilizados de modo associado e isolado, os quais foram: Covid-19, Hipertensão,
Riscos e Tratamentos. Resultados: Dentro das buscas,
foram encontrados 89 artigos; porém, após a exclusão de achados duplicados e
incompletos, restringiu-se a 24 obras, que foram lidas individualmente, na presença
de discordâncias entre estas, foi revisado de maneira clara a avaliação e inclusão
ou não desses artigos. Ao final das análises, 13 artigos foram incluídos na
revisão, os quais possuíam os descritores inclusos no tema e/ou resumo e foram
incluídos porque melhor se enquadravam no objetivo proposto. 85% dos artigos
foram publicados no ano de 2020. Conclusão: Diante da diversidade de opções
medicamentosas mencionadas, as evidências científicas ainda são preliminares e
de baixa qualidade metodológica. Não há eficácia e segurança comprovada de
nenhum medicamento para infecções por coronavírus em humanos. Assim, faz-se
necessária a execução de ensaios clínicos randomizados, controlados, com tempo
de acompanhamento adequado e com os métodos divulgados e sujeitos à revisão
científica por pares. Ainda, há dezenas de estudos clínicos em andamento
avaliando eficácia e segurança de medicamentos no mundo. Já temos algumas
vacinas sendo colocadas à disposição da população e dado o desenvolvimento
significativo de vacinas, tanto para humanos como para animais ou para ambos, é
provável que o desenvolvimento futuro continue a explorar as patentes de
animais, adaptando-as para humanos. Devido à pandemia, certamente haverá uma
explosão de crescimento nos artigos, nas patentes e nos estudos clínicos.
Objective: Evaluating the use of
steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the acute phase of infection by the virus
that causes SARS-VOC-2. Methodology: The scientific
prospection of the present study is a literature review, and was carried out
using the databases Scielo, Lilacs, Cochrane and Pubmed. There was a careful

methodological quality. There is no proven efficacy and safety of any
medication for coronavirus infections in humans. Thus, it is necessary to carry
out randomized controlled clinical trials, with adequate follow-up time and
with the methods disclosed and subject to scientific peer review. In addition,
there are dozens of clinical studies in progress evaluating the efficacy and
safety of drugs in the world. We already have some vaccines being made
available to the population and given the significant development of vaccines,
both for humans and animals or for both, it is likely that future development
will continue to exploit animal patents, adapting them to humans. Due to the
pandemic, there will certainly be an explosion of growth in articles, patents
and clinical studies.
