PREVALENCE OF DIABETIC NEUROPATHY AND ITS CONSEQUENCES: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Objetivo: Realizar um levantamento na literatura
científica sobre a prevalência de neuropatias em pacientes diabéticos. Metodologia: Este estudo refere-se de uma revisão de
literatura integrativa do tipo explicativa, de caráter qualitativo com intuito
de responder o seguinte Problema de Pesquisa: “Qual a prevalência de
neuropatias associadas a diabetes na população brasileira e as possíveis
consequências que essa associação pode acarretar aos pacientes?. Com finalidade de propor resultados
sintetizados através de um tema ou pergunta do problema, ou seja, formando-se
um corpo de conhecimento. Conclusão: A
evolução dos estudos
sobre a neuropatia diabética
adquiridos nos últimos anos
tem reflexos importantes
na melhoria do arsenal
terapêutico para essa patologia de
tão difícil condução. É
inquestionável o papel da prática de exercícios físicos regular, seguindo de um
plano alimentar para o possível controle do diabetes mellitus, incluindo
profissionais de saúde para sistematizar à adesão do paciente, considerando os
aspectos psicológicos, socioculturais, educacionais e econômicos envolvidos no
tratamento em diabetes, assim evitar
complicações e agravos da doença.
Objective:
To
carry out a scientific literature survey on the prevalence of neuropathies in
diabetic patients. Methodology: This study refers to a review of the
integrative literature of an explanatory type, of a qualitative nature in order
to answer the following Research Problem: “What is the prevalence of
neuropathies associated with diabetes in the Brazilian population and the
possible consequences that this association may have to patients? With the
proportion of results synthesized through a theme or question of the problem,
that is, forming a body of knowledge. Conclusion: The evolution of
studies on diabetic neuropathy acquired in recent years has an important impact
on improving the therapeutic arsenal for this pathology that is so difficult to
manage. The role of regular physical exercise is unquestionable, followed by an
eating plan for the possible control of diabetes mellitus, including a health
professional to systematize patient compliance, considering the psychological,
socio-cultural, educational and benefited aspects of diabetes treatment, thus
avoiding complications and worsening of the disease.
