RESUMO

 

Objetivos: Expor revisão narrativa por meio da pesquisa de artigos nacionais sobre humanização do cuidado ao paciente sob sedação na unidade de terapia intensiva e os desafios para promover a assistência de maneira humanizada.

Metodologia: Para o presente estudo foram pesquisados artigos nas bases de dados Portal de Periódicos da CAPES, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS), BVS (Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde) e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO). Utilizaram-se os seguintes descritores em “Unidade de Terapia Intensiva”; “Humanização”; “Enfermagem”.

Resultados: A busca resultou em 104 registros. Foram selecionados 72 artigos para leitura dos resumos e título. Nessa etapa, excluíram-se 56 estudos, restando 16 para leitura na íntegra, no qual foram excluídos 8 escritos por não atenderem aos critérios de inclusão. Assim, 8 editoriais fizeram parte da revisão final.

Conclusão: Assim, por meio da exploração os resultados mostram que mesmo diante dos entraves, a utilização de técnicas por parte dos profissionais de enfermagem para concretização da humanização torna-se fundamental para que o paciente tenha um cuidado integral, considerando, inclusive, a presença de familiares no tratamento durante o período em que o paciente encontra-se na UTI. Portanto, tem-se a necessidade de profissionais da área da saúde buscarem uma reflexão voltada para as questões mais amplas da humanização, bem como a aplicação de ações nesse contexto.

ABSTRACT

 

Objectives: Present an narrative review through research of national articles on the humanization of patient care under sedation in the intensive care unit and the challenges of promoting care in a humanized manner.

Methodology: For the present study, articles were searched in the CAPES Periodicals Portal, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), VHL (Virtual Health Library) and Scientific Eletronic Library Online (SCIELO). The following descriptors were used in “Intensive Care Unit”; “Humanization”; “Nursing”.

Results: The search resulted in 104 records. 72 articles were selected to read the abstracts and title. At this stage, 56 studies were excluded, leaving 16 to be read in full, in which 8 articles were excluded because they did not meet the inclusion criteria. Thus, 8 editorials were part of the final review.

Conclusion: Thus, through exploration, the results show that even in the face of obstacles, the use of techniques by nursing professionals to achieve humanization becomes fundamental for the patient to have comprehensive care, including considering the presence of family members in treatment during the period in which the patient is in the ICU. Therefore, there is a need for health professionals to seek reflection focused on the broader issues of humanization, as well as the application of actions in this context.
