A gravidez é um acontecimento sonhado na maioria das mulheres, contudo, o pré-natal é um momento
importante não apenas para as futuras mamães, mas é fundamental para o pai, pois é também nesse período
que ocorre o desenvolvimento do amor paterno. Objetivo: verificar nas produções científicas a importância
do parceiro durante o período pré-natal. Metodologia: O presente estudo tratou-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica do tipo revisão integrativa da literatura. Para a localização dos estudos relevantes, que respondessem à pergunta de pesquisa, utilizou-se de descritores indexados e não indexados (palavras-chave) nos
idiomas português, inglês e espanhol. Consultou-se por meio de descritores e palavras-chave as bases de
dados Pub da National Library of Medicine; BVS (Biblioteca Virtual da Saúde), coordenada pela BIREME
e composta de bases de dados bibliográficas produzidas pela Rede BVS, como LILACS, além da base de
dados Medline e outros tipos de fontes de informação. Resultados: Observando os artigos científicos desta revisão os estudos identificaram através das produções científicas a importância do parceiro durante o
período pré-natal. Analisar as produções científicas acerca do tema e conhecer os benefícios da participação
do parceiro na assistência de enfermagem no pré-natal, identificando os principais motivos da não adesão
dos parceiros no acompanhamento do pré-natal. Conclusão: o déficit de participação ainda é a maior resistência entre os homens diante das consultas pré-natais, de forma que não sabem identificar sua função
básica, por não estarem informados sobre o benefício desta participação, por não estarem referenciados
devidamente, fazendo com que percam a vontade autonômica de estarem presentes.
Pregnancy is an event dreamed of by most women, however, prenatal care is an important moment not
only for future mothers, but it is fundamental for the father, as it is also during this period that the development of paternal love occurs. Objective: The general objective of this work was to verify in scientific
productions the importance of the partner during the prenatal period. Methodology: The present study was
a bibliographical research of the integrative literature review type. To locate relevant studies that answered
the research question, indexed and non-indexed descriptors (keywords) in Portuguese, English and Spanish
were used. The Pub databases of the National Library of Medicine were consulted using descriptors and
keywords; VHL (Virtual Health Library), coordinated by BIREME and composed of bibliographic databases produced by the VHL Network, such as LILACS, in addition to the Medline database and other types of
information sources. Results: Observing the scientific articles of this review, the studies identified through
scientific productions the importance of the partner during the prenatal period. To analyze the scientific
productions on the subject and learn about the benefits of partner participation in prenatal nursing care,
identifying the main reasons for non-adherence of partners to prenatal care. Conclusion: It is concluded that
the participation deficit is still the greatest resistance among men in the face of prenatal consultations, in
a way that they do not know how to identify their basic function, because they are not informed about the
benefit of this participation, because they are not properly referenced , causing them to lose the autonomic
will to be present.
