THE INDISCRIMINATE USE OF ANTIMICROBIALS IN THE HOSPITAL SCOPE

Objetivo:
Identificar as evidências disponíveis na literatura sobre o uso indiscriminado de antimicrobiano
âmbito hospitalar. Metodologia: Trata- se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura por ser um método que
propicia uma síntese de conhecimento. A busca dos estudos
primários foi realizada por meio do acesso online na Base de Dados: Literatura
Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) via Biblioteca
Virtual em Saúde (BVS) e na biblioteca eletrônica Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). Para a seleção dos
estudos primários nas respectivas bases e biblioteca, foram utilizados os
descritores controlados, ambos pertencentes ao banco de Descritores em Ciências
da Saúde (DeCS), e combinados com operador booleano and. Resultados: Pode-se enfatizar que, esses fármacos são imprescindíveis
para garantir o combate de infecções, bem como possibilitar que tais infecções
não ceifem vidas. Entretanto o uso de antimicrobianos precisa ser racional e
seguro. Considerações Finais: A sociedade deve entender que a ingestão
de antibiótico precisa ser cautelosa e deve acontecer de acordo com orientações
médicas.
Objective: To identify
the evidence available in the literature on the indiscriminate use of
antimicrobials in hospitals. Methodology: This is an
integrative literature review as it is a method that provides a synthesis of
knowledge. The search for primary studies was performed through online access
in the Database: Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Sciences of the
Health (LILACS) via the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and the
ScientificElectronic Library Online (SciELO) electronic library. For the
selection of primary studies in the respective databases and library,
controlled descriptors were used, both belonging to the Database of Descriptors
in Health Sciences (DeCS), and combined with a Boolean operator and. Results:
It can be emphasized that these drugs are essential to ensure the fight
against infections, as well as enabling such infections not to take lives.
However, the use of antimicrobials needs to be rational and safe. Final
considerations: Society must understand that antibiotic ingestion needs to
be cautious and should take place in accordance with medical guidelines.
